1. What will happen during the Counseling sessions?
The initial counseling sessions will be focused on understanding the concerns and reasons for seeking help and exploring the client’s background along with initial goal setting. The concerns, feelings, and behaviors that continue to be problematic will be examined in later sessions and better ways of dealing with the problems, effective coping styles, and other long-term goal setting will be done.
2. Who will be helping me?
Every counselor onboard has a minimum Master’s Degree in Psychology and has undergone extensive training in counseling and certifications in other specialized therapy courses. All Counselors at The Secret Ingredient are under Supervision with an RCI registered Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
3. What can I talk to a counselor about? / What are the kinds of concerns for which people seek Counselling?
Any concern or experience that causes emotional discomfort and turmoil can constitute a reason to seek help from a counselor. We deal with concerns that range from but are not limited to:

4. How do I know if I need counseling?
Counseling allows you to explore your feelings and talk about any problem that you are facing in a structured setting. A counselor can assist you in developing more effective coping mechanisms, focus on daily tasks and work on overwhelming feelings. Overall allowing you to go forward and make the most of your life.
5. How is my privacy protected?
Protecting your privacy is our priority and we are bound by the ethical codes of psychologists and counselors to maintain confidentiality. This ensures that we are not permitted to and will not release any identifying information about you, including your demographic details, details of your interactions with the counselor, session notes, etc.
6. Are there any limitations to confidentiality?
There are some situations in which counselors are legally and ethically obligated to breach the code of confidentiality. In situations where the client or others are at harm, or when ordered by a court, counselors are required to report it to the respective authorities. In any such situation, you will be informed about the concern, and the limit to confidentiality will be discussed in detail before taking any action.
7. How regularly will I see my counselor and what will be the duration of each session?
The counseling sessions generally happen weekly, however, this can vary depending on your concerns and progress. The duration of the first session is 60 minutes and the following sessions will be for 50 minutes each.
8. How long will I be in counseling?
The duration and process of counseling differ from client to client. Ideally, counseling will terminate when the problem you were seeking counseling for becomes more manageable or is resolved.
